Why wouldn't serial midi interface do the same? After all, it's the
program seeking the input, not the input triggering the program, isn't
it? If Finale knows it should expect input from the midi port, wouldn't
it be actively monitoring (i.e. using CPU cycles) that port, regardless
of whether USB, serial or soundcard-based?
