I didn't reply to the original message 'cos I don't have that particular printer. But I do use the 5100dtn and have had no problems at all printing to 11x17 for booklets.
The PDF created from Finale needs to be made as if it's just going to 8.5x11. Then, when printing the PDF simply choose, in the 5100 settings, "Print to both sides" and under "Booklet printing:" choose "11x17 (left binding)". That's it. If you've dialed the correct paper size onto the paper trays then the program will automatically choose the right tray from which to print. You don't have to tell it what the page sequence needs to be- it will do all that on its own. Page 4 and 1 will be one one side, and 2 and 3 on the other, etc. Cecil Rigby [EMAIL PROTECTED] (personal) www.harrockhall.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: Ryan Beard Jim, I've had the same problems too. I've been able to get it to work successfully only once, and that was sheer luck. I'm using an HP LaserJet 5100dtn printer, but i'm sure the interface is nearly the same. HP support offers no help, and neither does Apple (you didn't say which platform you're on...). Please let me know if you're able to figure anything out. I wish one of those companies would put a guide up on the web explaining this feature! It would be very usefull if only I could figure it out!
