I'm afraid I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. The chord symbol for a major triad is just the root with no suffix -- i.e., "C" = C maj. triad, "G" = G maj. triad, etc. Anything else is needlessly confusing.


Unless they want the ± to indicate "plus or minus" which usually indicates anything in the general vicinity will do. Such as G± allowing an Ab or an F# chord as being in the vicinity. :-)

I certainly would have no clue what to do with such a chord indication should I see it without explanation in some song.
