After extracting parts, apply the Blank Notation staff style to the cue
measures in the score. Provided you apply the style only to the layer that
holds the cue, you only need to move the default rest to the default position.

Hi,

Well I have to admit that I am the perpetrator of the quote, "After extracting...." However, it is neither exclusively a Finale 2007 issue nor a "work-around". It is simply a means of hiding cue passages that can be applied in any recent version of Finale. The purpose here is to avoid having to make a separate extraction file, and as such it will come in handy in Finale 2007.

I would like to take the opportunity to amend my quote: if you are clever enough in the way you set up layer parameters, the default rest will pop into the default position once the cue notes have been hidden (unless you have moved the rests manually); then the move rests plug-in must be applied).

Thanks for listening!
