I assume a good number of you use Finale as professional music engravers, so
I thought I'd ask a question about pricing for notation services. A local
high schooler has learned Finale and is hoping to earn some money entering
music into Finale for my church and school. At the church he will mostly be
creating EPS files that can be inserting into our worship bulletin. At the
school he'll be creating choral scores from hand drafts or taking my draft
Finale files and doing the final editing on them.

Do you think it's best to pay him by the project, hour, measure, or some
other method? What is the going rate for music copyists using Finale? Any
other issues I should be aware of before establishing fees with him or
others?

Thanks for insight!
