Hi,
I could solve the problem by copying the contents of the softfont
folder on the finale DVD into my component files folder. I found out
I could find no soft fonts in the finale 2007 folder. Copying into
the main folder or a subfolder softfonts did not work, however
copying the contents into the Component Files folder did.
Why the finale installer did not copy them I cannot understand. I
installed three times, everytime selecting everything manually. I
guess it's a fault in the installation script. I hope MakeMusic will
pay me the working hours I needed to fix the problem by myself.
Don't know if anyone else is affected yet, but this should solve it.

Even if no other sources use the output of my Creative X-Fi, which
should not be a problem anyway because I never had a problem with
several applications using it at the same time. I switched Windows
sounds to my Hammerfall DSP, but still the same problem in Finale.
And I cannot switch the smart music soft synths to it because the
dialogue box won't open.
Well, surely I can use the Microsoft GS softsynth or the synths of
my Creative X-Fi sound system, or my external synths, but I don't
want to. I can even now open 2006 and use the SmartMusic Softsynths
there, but not in 2007.
Alas, beta-testing again. Any hints?
