The earliest version I had (2.2) had an excellent manual, one of the best software manuals I had ever seen. It was divided into the procedural and the 'meaningful' (in the 'Finale Encyclopedia'). Unfortunately, that is effectively the manual we have today. It is touched up and partially re-indexed to reflect additions and changes with each Finale version, but it has not be overhauled to improve its utility with respect to the Finale environment fifteen years later. Of course, I'd much prefer a complete overhaul in the program interface, dropping the plethora of icons into a single list and the presently wasted real estate used for functional information instead.
