I had this on one file a long time ago and used the page layout/re-size
staff systems to resize the staff by 1%. That solved the problem but I don't
know why.
I had the same problem occur when I used the "fit music" facility and didn't
physically change the "number of bars per system" by entering a number - if
I left the default "4" without actually typing in "4" it crammed everything
into one system.
