They are all the same version. The only difference is the pricing.
(Also, upgrades are always full price. You only get the academic
discount once, when you initially purchase Finale.)
He might be asking about the difference between PrintMusic and Finale
Allegro, the reduced-feature (and reduced price!) versions of Finale.
Sorry I don't know more. The student should check out the MakeMusic
website for demos.
