Hi Henry Try this ...
PREFERENCES > TYPE & AUTO TRACING > TYPE OBJECT SELECTION BY PATH ONLY make sure this is checked. If you don't, then you are prone to selecting things using the whole "bounding box" rather than just the path, which means that something with a large bounding box that is front of the element you are trying to select, may be selected instead. Furthermore, finale EPS files have all their objects grouped, so you will have to select an item and then OBJECT > UNGROUP so that you can work with each element. -- Simon Troup Digital Music Art On 3/11/07, Henry E. I may need to export EPS or postscript into ILLUSTRATOR to achieve certain editorial conventions. I cannot select stems in beamed eighth notes as an Item to adjust in ILLUSTRATOR. I can select noteheads, the beams themselves, and flags on various note values. I hope someone else has tried and succeeded;-) Henry Howey Professor of Music Sam Houston State University Box 2208 Huntsville, TX 77341 (936) 294-1364 http://www.shsu.edu/music/faculty/howey.php Owner of FINALE Discussion List _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
