Are you suggesting they are using broken instruments? ;-)

Anyway, this is nothing new. He has done it before, and so have others (the Brahms, perhaps not the antecendents). I have recorded the Flying Dutchman with Cappella Coloniensis a few years ago. I think we used all the natural horn resources in the whole region.
