I have now checked some documents on the result. I can say it is slightly better than before. It is actually pretty brilliant in my normal view percentage on screen. However, when viewed at 200%, or, worse, when printed, slurs are still unpredictable and certain slur tips still touch the staff lines. It is a complete mystery to me why some do and some don't. Most or all are perfect at 155% (this is a page width on my iBook), however, some misbehave at 200% and larger, and also in print.

One way to avoid this is to go from page to page, and in the smart shape tool, select all, press arrow up, arrow down (and wait quite a long time). However, this will also make them all fixed, ie non-Engraver slurs, which is not ideal when working with parts or when changing the layout.

Still, often this is better than the unpredictable behaviour.

If someone has a plugin which can make all slurs fixed exactly where they are at that moment, without having to go from page to page.

The problem with Finale is that work arounds are getting so complicated, time consuming and difficult to remember, that working with it is no fun.
