Yes, in simple it brings up the edit dialog. In speedy (have never seen that before) it makes an edit box on the screen around the notes/rests. I don't know how to use it. I can't seem to click on the rest. I hate to suggest this, but are you using left click or right click? I'm using WinFin2006 and left click works perfectly, It may be different in earlier/later editions.
