I see only one loss in avoiding the repeats, and that's that the 
analytical aspect of it is absent. That is, the player has to figure 
out that the second time through is actually identical. When 
rehearsal is at a premium, the value of knowing that the passage is 
an exact repeat would be magnified, seems to me.

Of course, that could be indicated in some fashion with a textual 
note.
