The only way to copy staff expressions, especially "This Staff Only" without mucking up your staff list is to use Robert Patterson's "Mass Copy." It will not create a new staff list it will keep it as "This Staff Only." I use This Staff Only all the time for dynamics at the end of hairpin when not able to attach to a note.
