[Finale] Lyrics: several words under one note

Finale 2009 Windows.  In a vocal piece, at one point I have a senza misura  
measure with a single double whole note (breve) under which there are  
several words.  I know that I can always enter the lyrics as a separate  
twxt, but is there a way to do this as normal lyrics, i.e. is there are  
way to have the lyric tool not automatically take spaces as cues to skip  
to the next note?
