David Fenton, and others, I, too, have used PDFtoMusic, the free version, to work with files purchase online. One page at a time is OK, and I use Finale to make a score from individual files.
However, and this make be a deal-breaker for David Fenton, when you are done you export the converted music as a music XML file, which you can open in Finale, but only in more recent versions. You can also export to bmp, aif, wav, and mid, but these (with the possible exception of mid) aren't useful for David's needs. And am I the only one who sees a HUGE disparity between the free one-page-at-a-time free version and $199 for the full version? I'm interested in the app, but not $199 interested!
