Thanks David. I did notice the rollers were getting dirty. I did jam
it when I was having driver problems.
Can't justify replacing this with a less expensive printer. It prints
wide format and cost me about $600.

The causes of this kind of thing that can be remedied:
1. dirty rollers -- open it up and use a cotton swab and rubbing
alcohol to clean them thoroughly.
2. cheap paper -- sometimes a batch of paper is too thin/too

But there are also things that can't be remedied without a service

With new laser printers costing $200, it's hard to justify that.
I have a perfectly good PS laser that has a problem, but replacing
the component to make it work would cost about $250. The printer
itself cost only $600 back in 2001, so I've put it back in the box in
hopes that something magical will happen (e.g., a bird will drop a
box with the needed part on my front step).
Really, there's no reason I shouldn't just give it away to someone
who is willing to spend the $250 to end up with a usable printer,
while I can invest the same amount in a brand-new printer.
But I procrastinate and do nothing!
