Now whoever designed this should be sacked imo:

I just found out that if you open an existing 2k7 document in 2k9, there is a huge inconsistency with the positioning options for expressions.

I have a large library of dynamics, all with carefully fine tuned positioning options for both note and measure positioning (ie note and staff expression options). Obviously when this is imported into 2k9 only one of these two will be retained. The obvious would be to keep the note positioning options, since the measure positioning really only makes sense when using them as staff expressions, which don't really exist anyway. Another way would be to import them twice. And a third, not so nice way of importing them would be to keep the measure positioning.

Well, Finale 2k9 does none of the above. Instead it imports them with their measure positioning, except for those which are actually being used in the file.

So when I import a file I end up with note positioning f, p etc, but measure positioning fff or mfp. When I import another file, I will end up with another combination.

As for my default file, I see no easy way to retain the note positioning at all. I guess I have to redo that completely.

What a mess.

Does anyone know how I can import my default file without losing my note positioning dynamics?
