Hi Carl,

Having bar lines align to a grid actually hurts readability and makes it more likely that players will accidentally skip a line. It's one of those conventions of hand-copying (like only including the key signature on the topmost system) that we are well rid of.

However, if for some reason you really want that grid, you can always set your minimum and maximum measure widths to be the same value.
