This composer was active during the second half of the 18th Century
and died in 1804. There is very little known about this particular
composer, and I have been in touch with the Italian source most able
to give me any information about him.
So again, using the 1800-1900 format, how does one list a composer's
years of living when only the year of death is known?

Yes, John ,this IS a simple question! The year of this particular
composer's birth is unknown. Period. The most reliable information
available is that this particular composer was born during the
first half of the 18th Century. Yes, contrary to what you seem to
imply, I have indeed done my homework in this matter. Thanks for
the lecture, but you have not answered my question.
No insult intended. Do you have ANYTHING about when he was active?
