I have had big trouble the last few days of playing files in WinFin 2010a with HP turned on. During preprocessing Finale hang and needed to be terminated the hard way. This was a very consistent behaviour. It had something to do with "falls" done with the glissando tool, but exactly how was a bit tricky to conclude. I saw a support article on MakeMusics homepage that addressed a very similar problem, and the solution according to this article was to place a new HP.dat file in the Finale 2010\Component files directory and make sure there were full RW access to the file. Tried that and it didn't help anything. I have therefore reported this as a support case to MakeMusic. The reason to write this text to the list is that when I reinstalled Finale 2010 and skipped the upgrade to 2010a, then the problem is gone. Without being 100 % sure, I anyway want to raise a warning for the 2010a version if you intend to use the HP (especially for jazz writers using falls with the glissando tool). At least until it is sorted out from where this problem comes - it is a bit painful to work without the HP.
