i (still) do this manually (with TGTools layout) and have meant to look into it further but it prob is found in teh layout or staff tool sections. also maybe check optimization.
I have previously been able to solve this problem, but I have been away from Finale some time now. My search term in the manual likely should be another one than clash, but none occurs to me right now.
