My dear Jeff, I do feel your pain. I absolutely agree with everything you've mentioned. Wouldn't it be great if MM implemented hairpins in the shape designer as a line choice, in which case you could add dynamics to each end. I was told back in 2007 this could easily be implemented. Nothing came out of it.... When I said "hairpin ends" I meant the very point of the hairpin changing with length. This could be seen with large magnification only. Hairpin ends go into a very sharp (hairline) end when they pass certain length. This started with Fin 2007. I want the end to be the width of the line, not a hairline... This would not be such an issue if they behaved one (either) way but not depending on the length.
See attached sample And yes, Sibelius "magnetic layout" feature is way ahead of anything available in Finale, if used properly, not with default numbers. ________________________________ From: SN jef chippewa <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2012 7:21:27 PM Subject: Re: [Finale] invert hairpins -- linked PTs 6 versions incomplete functionality ok so i only tangentially responded to your actual question, but i wonder if this was something that in fact did appear as linked parts were introduced? > >How are you dealing with hairpin ends when they >>change to a sharp point at certain length and >>subsequently become longer when working in tight > >situations? > >since 2006 (F2007) it has been necessary to live with >**significant** compromise in the SC if you actually want to use >linked parts in a project (in the way they are meant). _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
