Hello all,
Here is the response from Finale Documentation:

The confusion stems from the fact that we reorganized the Finale folder
structure in 2010 (Finale 2011), which means the Component Files folder was
removed. Unfortunately, this particular help topic was not updated to reflect
the change. The Maestro Font Default file can be found in this location:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MakeMusic/Finale 2012/Music Files/Default
Files
Win: C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Roaming\MakeMusic\Finale 2012\Music
Files\Default Files

Remember that the tilde (~) is the character that OS X uses to refer to your
user account.

I hope this helps,
Jim

Subject: Re: [Finale] Component Files Folder (Mac)

I'm sorry, the manual probably means NOT the user library but the computer's.
But never mind what the manual says. I've checked both user and computer
Library folders manually and found Component Files folder in NEITHER of them.
How do you edit/save default files? BTW, I get to my user library from a link
in the sidebar. Very convenient!
