Hello:

Anyone care to discuss playback with respect to breath marks? I'm not sure
what to expect here – shortening the length of the note (which is what
appears to be the default HP) doesn't really seem to jibe with reality –
what music really sounds like when performed – nor definition. Maybe I've
misunderstood what the term means, but I've typically considered a breath
mark to indicate the place to breathe (in vocal or instrumental) resulting
in something of a short break – not quite a caesura, but *something*.

This doesn't have to do with my own music – it's for a client who wants to
hear that brief pause without shortening the full value of the note to
which the breath mark is attached. FYI thoughts I had or read about: could
put in a hidden rest, but that changes the time-sig – or a zero-width
measure...or?

Thoughts? Many thanks!

Dean
