If you're on Windows you could try the Magnifier. It's a small application in the Accessibilty group intended for people with impaired vision and enlarges part or all of the screen according to your settings. If you can't find it in your program list, click Start > Run, and enter "magnify" in the box.
If you're on Mac I can't help but I expect it has something similar. Hope it helps you.
