Thanks David, and Christopher also. I thought I had tried something like that, but must have got something wrong. It works a treat as you describe it. What I feel I need is a supplement to the existing Finale documentation in the form of a dictionary of all the obsolete terms from earlier versions, each with a pointer to the search term for the present equivalent.
