Hello Listers, My WinFin 2014 frustrations and annoyances continue, this time with a file imported from Midi.
It's an orchestral score starting in 6/8 and continuing in a mixture of 6/8 and 9/8. When it's imported it mysteriously has a whole bar's rest at the beginning, followed by another 1/8 rest in the few parts that are playing at the beginning. Everything that follows is showing up 1/8 later than intended. There are also quite a lot of empty measures at the end of the music, which are not a problem, just a mystery. I've managed to remove the surplus 7 x 1/8 at the beginning and rebar, but instead of getting dotted 1/4 or dotted 1/2 for the longer notes I've got forests of ties, e.g. most bars with a single long note showing 1/4-tie-1/8-tie twice instead of dotted 1/2. I'm doing my best to removed the unhelpful word "should" from my vocabulary, but I hope I'm missing a way to turn the tied notes globally into dotted ones.
