This works occasionally so you might try it:

In the first measure of the coda, option-click in the measure with the Speedy 
Entry tool selected.  A rather verbose dialog box should appear.  At the bottom 
is a checkbox for Tie End.  Check it and exit the dialog.  This works on 2nd 
ending situations and it might work for a Coda.

Worth a try.
