Hi Steve, I'm also surprised you can't reproduce.
With these steps, I can reproduce 100% of the time: 1) Create a tuplet — in 4/4, a half-note triplet would be best because it fills the bar. 2) Using the custom stem tool, apply a blank shape to the stem of the first tuplet. 3) Copy that measure to another measure, either vertically or horizontally. 4) The tuplet has been deleted and a new measure has been created to house the overflow half note.
