Thanks, I knew that, because it's part of the workaround MM gave me.
But I have no interest in using the MIDI tool. It should not be necessary for writing a score and getting simple playback (and, for that matter, getting a good immediate estimate on Elapsed Time). I was very happy with the Tempo Tool, while it worked. It was quick, easy, and definitive (while it worked). Then in 2014.5 it didn't work. And now apparently it's gone. Not cool. Allen The Tempo Tool changes has been editable and visible through the MIDI Tool for the past couple of Finale versions.
