I have the need, for pedagogical reasons, to place a motif written for Shenkerian analysis in the center of a bar (this, indeed, many times). The main graphical issue is that to obtain equal spacing between the left barline and the first notehead as for the space between the last notehead and the right barline. The notation is mainly composed by half-note noteheads with no stems. The Mofify --> Shift plugin from TGTools works perfectly with one note; maybe I'm not setting it correctly or I'm not aware of an alternative workaround.
