Enter the first note as an 8th triplet, add a dot, and enter the rest of the notes as usual.

I have recently started to work with Rachmaninov's B minor prelude (Op. 32, No. 10). It features a LOT of triplets, and the one that is giving me the biggest problem is the opening motive of dotted 8th-16th-8th as a triplet covering one quarter note beat. The note durations all add up to three eighth notes, so they should fit in a standard eighth-note triplet, but Finale (Win2K9) is acting like there is something wrong. If I turn off the option to check for extra notes, I can put it in, and the "Check Durations" plugin finds no problems, but it's a bit of a pain. Any ideas what to do because that particular rhythm is EVERYWHERE in this piece. Thanks, Adam _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu
