Ray, Please try this: 1. Open the problematic part and determine which layer the rests are in. 2. Apply a staff style BLANK NOTATION WITH RESTS to the PART ONLY. Apply it to the layer containing the problematic rests ONLY. 3. Try to create the MM Rest. This works 100% of the time when I do voiced linked parts with voice 1 playing and voice 2 resting & vice-versa. Jim
