In general I prefer to change to "yesterday" since changing to today always leaves the possibility that a change made later will confound you (after all, "today" is not yet over). But the risk of this is small. But go ahead. I think you should also apply the idcache.h patch to 4.2.x if you're winding this far forward on gnulib version.
