Your mail is hard to read because your mailer inserts lots of spurious blank lines and fails to wrap long lines. > I was recently reading up on 'capabilies' and noticed that find has no > support for locating files based on extended attributes or capabilities, I > thought this was a valid use case but maybe that's just me? Thanks for the report and attempt at a patch. Yes, that sounds like a useful functionality to add to find. However, since your patch is non-trivial, we either need you to submit copyright assignment to the FSF, or you will have to wait for someone else to implement the same idea without borrowing from your patch. Is copyright assignment something you are willing to pursue? My understanding is that the FSF allows individuals to complete assignment (which requires their legal name) while still using a preferred pseudonym on the public patches, although most contributors don't try to hide behind a pseudonym. > autopoint: *** Missing version: please specify in configure.ac through a line > 'AM_GNU_GETTEXT_VERSION(x.yy.zz)' the gettext version the package is using That's weird, because the latest findutils.git has: AM_GNU_GETTEXT_VERSION([0.18.1]) What version of autopoint are you running? It could be that you have a buggy version of gettext (the source of autopoint) installed on your system. We really do need the patch against findutils.git rather than a prior tarball. -- Eric Blake eblake redhat com +1-919-301-3266 Libvirt virtualization library http://libvirt.org
