Fall Gardening - Late Vegetables and Winter Cover Crops

Tuesday, August 12, 6:30-8:30 pm

Cornell Cooperative Extension, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca NY

Cost: $5-$10 (sliding scale)

Late summer is a great time to plant salad and cooking greens, cilantro and
peas for fall harvest. It's also the best time to plant garlic for spring
harvest, and over-wintering cover crops can also be sown now to suppress
perennial weeds and add fertility and organic matter to soils. Learn which
vegetable crops are suitable for fall planting and when to plant them, how to
use cover crops in a home garden, and how sheet mulching in fall can make
gardening next spring easier!

Registration is required so that we have participants contact information in
the event of cancellation. For more information or to register, call 272-2292
or email [email protected]
