My short answer is that I haven't set this up, so I can't walk you through the details, but you might want to look into the 'cups' and 'gnome-print' packages. Those seem to be the main providers of print services. gnome-print is required by a lot of the gnome packages (bonobo, gal, gtkhtml, guppi; ghex, eog, gnucash, gnumeric, sodipodi, scigraphica, and terraform). cups -- which is meant to be a replacement for the old lpd Unix line print daemon [I've read that Apple might be adopting it too] -- doesn't seem to be required for anything yet, but you can probably use it everywhere you would need it. Not sure about details though. So, I'd look into those two packages.
