hi Finksters, all the help i got earlier in the week was fine and all worked well.
i'm on another machine now. i need fast knowledge of exactly how to do 2 things: 1) XDarwin was installed by some binary (Apple's site, or maybe OpenOSX), but i need to completely remove it... how? 2) there is also a Fink install present, but it's messed up and maybe old... so i want to completely remove that too... how? (i realize you might say, "let's just fix what you have", but i'd be more comfortable starting over fresh.) then i'm going to start over and let Fink do it all!
