OK, we're on the right track.
I did a "fink update audiofile"

After that installed, I tried installing gnucash again and got a 
message that "node gnome-print already exists", so I'm updating that. 
I never did a full gnome install.  Maybe an update to the gnome 
base-files might fix it in one fell swoop.
