Hi all,

I have installed fink using "fink-0.4.0-installer.dmg" on a G4 with a
French version of MacOS 10.1.4.
After setting the proxy with "fink configure", it seems to be working
fine but I'm having trouble with dselect.
When I type sudo dselect from a terminal window, the first screen of
dselect is not displayed properly: lines are written over the other
lines already present in my window, rather than scrolling up the
window and writing new lines below the existing ones. Here is a copy
of my terminal window's content:

I wonder if this behaviour doesn't have something to with dselect
running in French, and the French "special" characters (such as e
acute and the like) not being displayed properly in dselect screen
(they are replaced with ? and the 2 following characters are missing.
Is there a way to force dselect to run in English instead of French
to see if this improves the display behaviour?

Thanks in advance,

Herv, France
