I'm wondering, are you using OS X 10.1.x?  If so, are you using the Dec. 
2001 Dev Tools, or the April 2002 beta Dev Tools.  If my memory serves 
me (which it hasn't been for 2 weeks now *ROFL*), I understand there's a 
prob w/ compilations from source through Fink.  If you are using the 
April 2002 beta Dev Tools, I'd suggest removing them, installing the 
Dec. 2001 Dev Tools (and all updates of that version), then try 
recompiling.
