Yes, this is a bug on the fink web page. It's 4.3-3. []Unpacking system-xfree86 (from .../system-xfree86_4.2-3_darwin-powerpc.deb)Unfortunately, you left out the actaual error message. "..." is hard to debug ;-)

I don't know how to get to the "pre-installation script" from that so I don't know exactly why it would fail with exit status 1.
Perhaps the maintainer could take a look at it.
