I'm having trouble setting up the fink environment with xterm.app as outline
in the "directions" for installing fink. I added the line: source
/sw/bin/init.csh into my .cshrc file. I now open the xterm window and I get
this:
Unmatched ".
[Tobias:~] herbieme%
as my prompt. I don't know what " Unmatched ". " means, and when I type
in "fink -h" to see if fink is available to me xterm tells me "fink:Command
not available"
If type in "source /sw/bin/init.csh" after my prompt, fink will work. So
I think I have something screwed up with my shell scripts. I now hav X11
install and Fink, and that is all, and everything should be at its default
setting, so how do I figure out what is going on?
