In the course of a long misadventure that this list's 40K limit prohibits recounting (and no one wants to listen to anyway), I had to temporarily move my "/sw" directory off my boot partition.

It is restored, but the permissions appeared to be messed up. What should they be? (Please don't tell me they are app specific within the folder - I am really hoping I don't have to just start installing /sw from scratch...)

On a somewhat related issue, is it possible for Fink to be modified so that it will recognize that an install/build has maxed-out a partition and abort with an intelligible err? I have had recent builds that went on for hours before I realized that the thousands(?) of messages streaking by were all saying that each module had been compiled, but there was no room to write the object file?

Thanks,

Jeff Blume
