There's no packages missing, so that's not it (so much for the easy idea).
Check and see if the .ICEauthority file does in fact exist ("ls -a ~" in a
terminal). If not then you should be able to create it with "touch
~/.ICEauthority"

I completely disinstalled and reinstalled Fink and all all Fink-related
