other required patches I get a message like:
curl -f -L -O ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v1.2/v1.2.4/gimp-1.2.4.tar.bz2 curl: (9) Couldn't change to directory pub/gimp/v1.2/v1.2.4 ### execution of curl failed, exit code 9 Downloading the file "gimp-1.2.4.tar.bz2" failed.
(1) Give up (2) Retry the same mirror (3) Retry another mirror from your country (4) Retry another mirror (5) Retry using next mirror set "master"
I tried a few other mirror sites with the same result. When I ftp to the mirror sites I find
that this file (v1.2.4) has been superceded and does not exist. I am assuming that
the latest stable version of gimp listed on some fink master list and the actual latest
stable version on the mirrors have gotten out of step.
To verify that there was not some problem with my version of fink (I had just upgraded
to 0.53 before trying to install fink), I installed another package which worked fine.
Is there a way to specify precisely the filename one wants to install in a case like this?
I suppose an alternative would be to switch to unstable and download v1.3.* from
there.
