Hi All,
Many thanks to all for the extremely helpful advice & info on this list.
Have I screwed up royally by upgrading to OS X 10.2.8 this morning?
When I was trying to install the latest gnuplot from source via Fink Commander I got the following feedback, after it finished CURLing the source for all the required packages:
dpkg -i /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/base/fink_0.13.6-1_darwin-powerpc.deb
(Reading database ... 3776 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace fink 0.13.6-1 (using .../fink_0.13.6-1_darwin-powerpc.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement fink ...
Setting up fink (0.13.6-1) ...
Checking system... powerpc-apple-darwin6.8
This system is unrecognized and not supported by Fink.
dpkg: error processing fink (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
fink
### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 1
Failed: can't install package fink-0.13.6-1
I should add that I just re-installed Fink after a long absence. I'd had to send my iBook back to Apple many months back and hadn't re-installed Fink until just yesterday. The install of Fink seemed to go OK, except the final step - running 'pathsetup.command' failed, but I simply added the 'source /sw/bin/init.csh' line to the end of my .tcshrc file by hand.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I really need to get gnuplot & several other Fink components installed and running to support a large project I'm working on.
Cheers,
