There are no 'error messages above' to check, so I have no further information to give. This happens on two machines on which I have installed fink, and with the second machine, I did a successful selfupdate-cvs prior to upgrading to OS X 10.2.8 and then an unsuccessful one as above immediately after upgrading to OS X 10.2.8 (Which was pulled by Apple yesterday, as you probably know).
[Not complaining, just saying that there might still be a problem.]
Then go into /sw/fink/dists and do a "cvs up" and see if you get more of an error message. This error is totally orthagonal to 10.2.8.
